Empower Credit Union was originally founded in 1914 to serve employees and retirees of the Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Company, later known as Wisconsin Electric Power Company. They have since expanded their charter to include the public at large, servicing the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.
