This week I stumbled upon a pretty cool little page that Google made which shows the top searches happening in real time. It is more gimmicky then useful, but it is still something you will spend time looking at for a while before you realize how much time you are wasting. Visualize Hot Searches in Real Time
They launched it as part of their trends section which is VERY useful if you are trying to determine current trends, not only in search, but in the world in general. Google trends is an amazing indicator of the popularity on a number of topics. They also give you numerous sorting tools to fine tune the type of trends you want to see.
Their other new feature of Google Trends which is pretty neat AND useful is their Top Charts. This gives you categories which break down the top searches within them. They have a bunch of great categories, from entertainers to whiskeys!
